The National Police Service (NPS) has intensified intelligence-led operations targeting drug trafficking and illicit brews in Embu and Machakos counties.
In Embu County, a multi-agency security team raided a house in the Shauri area following a tip-off and recovered 3,450 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa, nine packaging boxes, and 200 envelopes believed to have been used for packaging narcotics.
Police said the suspect escaped after spotting officers, but investigations are ongoing to trace and arrest them.
In a separate operation in Machakos County, officers from Kibaoni Police Patrol Base, working alongside National Government Administration Officers, arrested a suspected drug trafficker.
The suspect was found with one kilogram of processed cannabis sativa, half a kilogram of unprocessed cannabis, 600 rolling papers, and a rolling tray, all believed to have been intended for the preparation and distribution of narcotics.
The recovered drugs and other items have been detained as exhibits.
The National Police Service said the operations demonstrate its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and bringing offenders to justice.
“Coordinated investigations remain active, with officers relentlessly following every lead to ensure that those responsible are brought before the courts,” NPS said.
NPS also urged members of the public to continue sharing information, saying community cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime and drug trafficking.
