Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Mariakani Township, Kilifi County, after police officers intercepted a motorcycle carrying a large consignment of cannabis sativa.
Officers from Mariakani Police Station stopped the motorcycle at the Njoro area of Mariakani Township and arrested Ali Mbaji alias “Mkadinali” and Rashid Mustafa alias “Malalo.”
A search of the two suspects yielded 59 and 25 large rolls of cannabis sativa respectively, bringing the total haul to 84 large rolls.
Both suspects are in custody awaiting arraignment, while the recovered cannabis and the motorcycle have been secured as exhibits.
The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to fighting drug trafficking and urged members of the public to continue sharing information to help dismantle criminal networks.
