Two suspected phone snatchers have been arrested and placed in police custody following an intelligence-led operation by National Police Service officers in Mandera East Sub-County.
Acting on tip-offs, officers moved into the Kona B area of Mandera Town and arrested the two suspects, who are believed to be part of a local phone-snatching syndicate.
A search of their rented house in the same area led to the recovery of four stolen mobile phones.
Officers subsequently traced the rightful owners, who visited the police station and positively identified their phones.
The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks, saying such operations will continue across the country.
“The National Police Service remains steadfast in its commitment to serving and protecting the public. Operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks will continue across the country,” the NPS said in a statement.
