Azam Media unveils FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcast plans

Azam TV officially announced its acquisition of the broadcasting rights for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 during a press briefing held at the Azam Media Kenya headquarters in Nairobi on Thursday 28th May, 2026.

The briefing, that took place at Azam media Kenya offices, brought together members of the media, stakeholders, partners, and football enthusiasts as the company shared its vision in delivering a world class football coverage to football fans across the region.

Speaking during the event, the General Sales Manager, Martin Abuya, highlighted Azam’s commitment to bringing the global football spectacle live to viewers in Africa.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be one of the biggest tournaments in football history, featuring 104 matches hosted across 16 cities in North America, including the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Through its broadcast coverage, it aims to bring every moment of the tournament directly into viewers’ living rooms.

Abuya emphasized that securing the broadcasting rights is not only a major milestone for the company but also an opportunity for Azam media to measure itself against the best broadcasters in the world.

He noted that the company has consistently grown over the last 10 years, positioning itself as a key player in sports broadcasting across the region.

The press briefing also outlined Azam TVs comprehensive plans for tournament coverage, programming schedules, partnerships, and enhanced viewer experience ahead of the global competition scheduled for June 2026.

The acquisition of the Fifa World Cup broadcasting rights further reinforces Azam Media Group’s dedication to delivering premium sports entertainment and ensuring football fans across Africa have access to high quality coverage of the world’s biggest sporting event

The company has dedicated two channels, so that the viewers would be able to enjoy the match in Swahili and English.

There also will be live activations on ground before and throughout the game season.
