A family in the Mitimingi area of Karagita Village in Naivasha, Nakuru County, is seeking justice following the death of 20-year-old John Juma Wamalwa, who was last seen in the company of Nyumba Kumi elders, before being discovered dead outside their home.
According to the mother, Juma had gone to the shops to buy snacks when the shopkeeper raised an alarm over his conduct, which led to him being matched to the Karagita Police Post.
“Naona msichana ananipigia simu. ‘Johnnie alikua ameendea mkate, lakini naskia wamekuja kumchukua ati yeye ni mwizi’.”
Thereafter, Juma was found lifeless at his family’s doorstep.
“Nikamuuliza ameenda wapi? Ameenda kwa nyumba. Sasa mtoto kufika hapo, naona ananipigia simu, ‘Mum, mimi nimeongea na Johnnie hatukua na kitu mbaya. Lakini sasa nimefika nimepata Johnnie amekufa” the mother added.
John’s sister says she was tricked into leaving the compound, only to find her brother, who had left moments earlier to buy snacks, lifeless.
Naivasha Deputy County Commissioner, Josaya Odongo, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations have begun to establish the sequence of events that led to John’s death.
