From party animal to missionary woman: The story of Ivy Wanjira Chege

When she joined Strathmore University, Ivy Wanjira Chege was an innocent girl who was just getting to know herself.

However, a few months after joining the prestigious institution, she had grown to be a party animal who did not let any bash and a chance to drink pass by.

Her life had become miserable on account of her new lifestyle.

But as she speaks to TV47’s Sifa Sunday show host Mariah Kinyanjui, Wanjira says that God manifested in her at Third Year, and she decided to change for the better, leading a Godly life thereafter.

But even after finding Christ, who is to say that challenges and temptations are not there? At 21, Wanjira got pregnant for her then-boyfriend. “I wanted to abort the baby and move on with my life because I wasn’t ready at all,” she says.

Nonetheless, Wanjira and her boyfriend decided to keep the baby.

“My belly started showing when I was 6 months pregnant and I had to tell my parents…it was a very difficult situation… but my mom reacted calmly… she told my dad and they were very supportive.”

But how did Wanjira go from being a young mother, to a single mother when the baby was just 6 months old, to finding love again?

This is the story of Ivy Wanjira Chege
