Meru man surrenders firearm to pastor after receiving Jesus

Bishop Nathan Kirimi of Jesus Winner’s church in Meru was today given an AK47 rifle firearm by one of his congregants who had found salvation after his sermon.

The worshipper who got saved had remained behind after the service to hand the firearm to the man of God, He confessed to having kept the gun at his home and he wanted to let go of it.

The Bishop took the gun to Imenti Police Station where he recorded a statement afterwards.

Police Commander Imenti North Ezekiel Chepkwony speaking on Wednesday, stated that the congregant surrendered the rifle wrapped in a jacket and a sisal bag to the pastor.

“One of the people who gave their life to Jesus at the church met the pastor later and told him that he had something he wanted to surrender to him,” the police commander stated. 

The Police Commander further urged the residents to continue surrendering illegal weapons as well as report any use of weapons in the area.

Chepkwony as thanked the Bishop Karimi for reporting the incident.

“The rifle is a bit rusty but it seems it has been used, it seems it has been active since it has the magazine of 17 rounds of 7.62 mm special which is not the normal ammunition,” Chepkwony noted

Chepkwony announced a crackdown to flash out those in possession of illegal weapons, Promising to ensure that cases of armed reduced in the area.
