Meru man surrenders to police after brutal murder of father and step-mother

Police in Buuri East constituency, Meru County are investigating a 35-year-old man, Mwangera who surrendered after murdering his father and step-mother yesterday 14, March.

The police stated that the suspect arrived at Kiirua police station with the murder weapon (a machete) and was subsequently detained by authorities awaiting court arraignment.

His motive to commit the murder was over a suspected land dispute.

According to the report, Mwongera killed his father by cutting him on the right hand, right side of the head, left palm and left shoulder.

The step-mother was was cut on her left upper hand, neck, head and right ear.

The bodies of the deceased were later transferred to Mwenda Antu Hospital mortuary and are awaiting a postmortem.
