Pastor burnt alive in Nyeri for allegedly sodomizing nine year old

A pastor has been burnt alive in Nyeri for allegedly sodomizing a nine-year-old boy. The pastor identified as Simon Ndegwa served at True Disciple Ministry Church.

According to police reports, the boy was sent to the shop by his parents but on the way, he bumped into the pastor.

Pastor Ndegwa reportedly asked the boy to accompany him to his house where he defiled him and then later released him to go back home.

Pastor lynched

The boy informed his parents who in turn alerted the neighbours who took it upon themselves to get the minor “justice”.

By the time law enforcement officers were getting to the crime scene, the pastor had already been lynched. Nyeri Central Sub-County Police Commander, Andrew Mbogo said that this was the fourth time the priest was accused of sodomy.

Sodomy, the crime

Sodomy is a crime in Kenya prohibited under Section 162 and 165 of the Penal Code. It can result to imprisonment of upto 14 years.

Under the Sexual Offences Act, defiling a child below 11 years is punishable by life imprisonment.
