National Police Service (NPS) officers, working alongside National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), have recovered thousands of litres of illicit alcohol during an operation in Soweto area, Kahawa West, Kasarani Sub-County in Nairobi.
According to a statement shared by the National Police Service on its X account, the operation targeted the production and distribution of illegal brews within the area.
During the raid, officers seized 2,400 litres of Kangara and 120 litres of Chang’aa. Police also recovered equipment used in the manufacture of the illicit alcohol.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb the spread of harmful substances and dismantle illegal brewing networks.
“The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to combating the production, distribution and consumption of illicit brews and other harmful substances that threaten public health, safety and security,” the statement read.
NPS urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by reporting criminal activities.
“Members of the public are encouraged to support law enforcement agencies by providing timely information on criminal activities at the nearest police station or through the emergency numbers 999 and 911,” the service stated.
