Two suspects have been arrested after police officers raided a house in the Soko Korona area of Timau Town in Meru County and recovered a large quantity of cannabis (bhang) and drug processing equipment.
Acting on credible intelligence, the police officers targeted the premises, which was suspected to be serving as both a storage and processing point for illegal drugs.
A thorough search of the house turned up one hundred rolls of cannabis along with more of the substance at various stages of processing, suggesting the operation was actively preparing drugs for distribution.
Also recovered from the premises were five pairs of scissors, a knife, and rolling papers, all believed to have been used in the cutting, packaging, and processing of the bhang.
The two suspects found inside the house at the time of the raid were arrested on the spot and are currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
All recovered items have been secured as exhibits for use in court proceedings.
The National Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting drug trafficking and protecting communities from illegal drugs.
