Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) are mourning the alleged death of user Frank Allen who reportedly succumbed to alcohol poisoning.
The news was broken by username CaptainOchenge on his X platform. He shared WhatsApp conversations between him and the deceased’s friend.
“Hey, I think you know of the guy that sent you to bring me flowers…it’s unfortunate that he passed on yesterday morning,” read the text by the unidentified friend.
“Oooops no I don’t know him. He just got my number from twitter. We’ve never talked again. I don’t even know how he looks. Am sorry for your loss,” responded CaptainOchenge.
Upon him further enquiring cause of death, the lady friend divulged that it was alcohol poisoning. “Alcohol tu izi fake alibuy on Sunday evening (He bought fake alcohol on Sunday evening),” she said.
On Sunday evening, the deceased had posted on X saying that he was drunk unable to sober up. “Shukisha. Hazishuki jameni. Naskia ufala zaidi ya noma (Sober up. I’m unable to sober up. I feel like crap.”

Kenyans on X have reacted to his sudden demise with some urging their followers to quit alcohol as others shared their experiences.
“Waah rest in peace… Kenya so long as someone is making money they don’t care about your safety. The KEBS officers who are supposed to inspect goods to ensure they are fit for consumption pia wa wanatafuta ya kujenga mansions through corruption. I hate Kenya,” wrote user Lord Dave.
