Narok surveyor arrested for allegedly receiving KSh100,000 bribe

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a surveyor in Narok County over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe.

The suspect, Joan Achieng Odumbe, is accused of demanding Ksh 100,000 from a complainant in exchange for helping identify boundary beacons between two parcels of land in Nairagie Enkare Sub-County, Narok County.

According to the EACC, preliminary investigations led to an operation at the Narok County offices, where Odumbe was arrested while allegedly receiving Ksh 50,000.

She was later taken to the EACC South Rift Regional Office in Nakuru, where she was processed and recorded a statement.

The anti-graft agency says it remains committed to combating bribery and other forms of corruption at public service delivery points, as well as improving the quality of services offered to citizens.
