Pastor Kanyari is taking an unusual argument to Kasarani voters: if he can successfully ask people for the controversial Mbegu ya 310, he believes he can also lobby for government funds if elected MP.
Addressing residents on Sunday, September 13, as he campaigned for the Kasarani parliamentary seat, Kanyari said his experience mobilising contributions gives him confidence he can secure resources from government.
“If I was able to kuitisha KSh310 ninatumiwa, ninaamini ya kwamba nitakuwa na uwezo ya kuitisha pesa huko juu,” Kanyari said.

The preacher is seeking to make the jump from religious leadership into elective politics in the 2027 General Election, promising Kasarani residents better roads and improved access to education.
“Na tutatengeneza barabara. Watoto watasoma,” he said.
Kanyari’s zero-school-fees promise
Pastor Kanyari also made a sweeping pledge on education, promising that children in Kasarani would not pay school fees if he wins the MP seat.
“Mimi nikichaguliwa kuwa mbunge wa Kasarani, hakuna mtoto atalipa school fees. Hata kidogo,” he said.
His campaign has focused on issues including poor roads and limited opportunities, as he seeks to convince voters to back his political ambitions.
‘Pastor Kanyari amechanganyikiwa’
Kanyari also addressed criticism surrounding his public appearances and social media activities.
“Si mnakaga kidogo mnaniona kwa social media? Ee! Munaona kidogo nimeleta wenda wazimu?” he asked.
He said some people had described him as confused because of his political activities in Kasarani.
“Naleta huko Kisirani, watu wanasema Kanyari amechanganyikiwa,” he said.
Kanyari dismissed the criticism, insisting that he was mentally sound.
“Lakini sikuwahi akili yangu ni timamu. Sinaga kasoro yoyote,” he said.
‘Team Kanyari’ open to everyone
The preacher ended his address with an invitation to Kasarani residents to join his political camp, insisting that his team would not discriminate.
“So mimi sina maneno mengi, ninawapenda na ninawaalika wote kati-kati team Kanyari. Hatupagui,” he said.
Kanyari has previously declared his intention to contest the Kasarani MP seat in 2027, positioning himself as a candidate focused on roads, education and opportunities for residents.
