Police arrest two, recover stolen electricity meters in Lucky Summer

Police have arrested two suspects and recovered several Kenya Power electricity meters and other assorted items believed to have been stolen during an operation in Lucky Summer, Nairobi.

The operation was conducted on Tuesday by officers from Lucky Summer and Ruaraka Police Stations in collaboration with Kenya Power personnel. It followed information received by police regarding the theft and handling of electricity infrastructure in the area.

The National Police Service (NPS) said the suspects were taken into custody as investigations continue into other reported cases involving stolen electricity equipment.

The two are expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and share information that could help uncover cases of theft and other criminal activities.

The NPS encouraged residents to report suspected criminal activity through the nearest police station or its emergency channels.

“#FichuaKwaDCI” information can be submitted anonymously through the toll-free number 0800 722 203 or via WhatsApp on 0709 570 000.

The latest operation highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies and Kenya Power to tackle the theft and illegal handling of electricity infrastructure, which can disrupt services and expose communities to safety risks.

The NPS reiterated its call for public cooperation, urging residents to promptly report suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
