Police officers from Muthangari Police Station have arrested two notorious phone snatchers in Kawangware, Nairobi, recovering two mobile phones believed to have been stolen from members of the public moments before the arrests.
Acting on a lead about the suspects’ whereabouts, officers tracked the duo to Kawangware and successfully apprehended them.
The two had been terrorising residents in the area, using the familiar pattern of descending swiftly on unsuspecting pedestrians and motorists before disappearing into traffic, often on motorcycles.
The suspects were found in possession of the two phones upon arrest and have since been placed in custody pending arraignment.
The recovered handsets have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue to identify and arrest more suspects linked to the phone snatching network.
