Two suspected drug traffickers arrested in Kasarani raid

National Police Service officers have arrested two suspected drug traffickers following a raid in the Marurui area of Kasarani Sub-County, Nairobi, in an operation targeting illegal drugs and contraband.

According to a statement shared by the National Police Service on Saturday, June 13, 2026, officers from Njathaini Police Station conducted the operation after receiving intelligence on suspected drug distribution points within Marurui Shopping Area.

“National Police Service officers in Kasarani Sub-County have dealt a major blow to the local illicit drug and contraband supply chain following a successful raid in the Marurui area,” the statement read.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of narcotics, illicit alcohol and materials believed to have been used in packaging and distributing the drugs.

Police said the suspects were found with 1,195 processed rolls of bhang and 2,001 grams of unprocessed cannabis. Officers also recovered 40 litres of illicit brew alongside weighing and packaging equipment.

“The suspects, who are in police custody awaiting arraignment in court, were found in possession of 1,195 processed rolls and 2,001 grams of unprocessed bhang, 40 litres of illicit brew, and accessories used for weighing and packaging the drugs,” NPS said.

The two are currently being held in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.

Reaffirming its resolve to combat drug-related crimes, the National Police Service stated that it remains committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks and curbing the sale of illicit alcohol.

The agency also called on members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by sharing information that could help in the fight against crime.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
