The United Democratic Alliance and the Orange Democratic Movement have formalized their political partnership after holding a joint consultative meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at State House in Nairobi.
The meeting brought together the UDA Steering Committee and the ODM Central Management Committee, with both sides agreeing to deepen their working relationship and lay the groundwork for a formal coalition of equals between the two parties.
In a joint statement, both parties said that as part of the resolutions reached, the respective party chairpersons were directed to maintain structured and regular consultations across party organs, with the aim of building consensus on key priority issues going forward.
The two parties also agreed to establish a Broad-Based Management Committee made up of party leaders, selected Cabinet Ministers, and the Majority and Minority Leaders in Parliament. The committee will be responsible for aligning the legislative and executive agenda of government to ensure coherence, efficiency, and better service delivery.

Both parties signed off on the joint statement reaffirming their shared commitment to dialogue, unity of purpose, and inclusive governance for the benefit of all Kenyans.
The statement was signed by President William Ruto in his capacity as UDA Party Leader and Senator Oburu Oginga as ODM Party Leader.
