Wajir Woman Rep. rolls out bursary, expands support programs in Habaswein

Habaswein town in Wajir South played host to a key development milestone as Wajir Woman Representative Hon. Fatuma Jehow launched a KSh 1 million bursary fund for secondary school students in Wajir South.

The initiative is set to expand access to education, particularly for vulnerable learners, as part of her broader commitment to uplifting communities across the county.

The event also showcased a range of complementary interventions, including drought response measures, empowerment programs for women and youth, and the distribution of food supplies to persons living with disabilities through NGAAF.

The Woman Rep was accompanied by local leaders, among them Ademasajida MCA Hon. Mahfudha Abdullahi Hajji, as she reiterated her pledge to deliver equitable development and expand opportunities for all residents of Wajir County.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Jehow underscored the central role of education in transforming lives, noting that investing in learners today secures the future of the county.

“Education is the most powerful tool we can give our children—it opens doors, restores hope, and builds a generation capable of shaping a better Wajir. No child should be left behind because of lack of school fees,” she said.
