Two suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a boda boda rider in Busia County have been arrested in Uganda after allegedly killing the victim, stealing his motorcycle, and fleeing across the border.
According to the Butula Constituency intelligence department, the suspects, both residents of the area, one of whom was already wanted by police, allegedly assaulted and killed a boda boda rider in Bujumba, Butula Constituency, before making off with his motorcycle into Uganda.
The suspects are also alleged to have attacked another boda boda rider in Uganda, seriously injuring him before stealing his motorcycle as well.
Ugandan authorities subsequently arrested two of the three suspects.
The motorcycle stolen in Kenya has been recovered in Uganda, while efforts to trace the motorcycle taken from the Ugandan rider are ongoing.
The two suspects are expected to face charges in Uganda first, before being handed over to Kenyan authorities to answer additional charges once proceedings in Uganda are concluded.
